Your Final Week Before Moving: A Day-by-Day Checklist
Updated: Sep 17
The last week before a move goes by fast. Breaking it into daily tasks keeps you calm and ready when the crew arrives.
7 days out
Confirm your moving date, arrival window, and both addresses with your mover. Double-check elevator reservations and COI paperwork with your buildings.
5 days out
Finish packing rooms you don't use daily. Start using up food in the fridge and pantry, and set aside items for donation or junk removal.
3 days out
Pack most of the kitchen, leaving only basics. Take apart furniture you can handle yourself and keep screws in labeled bags taped to each piece.
1 day out
Empty and defrost the refrigerator, pack your essentials bag, charge your phone, and clear a path from your door to the elevator or stairs.
Moving day
Walk the crew through the home, point out fragile items, and do a final check of closets and cabinets before the truck leaves. Questions? Call Crossroads Moving at 201-567-4135.
