Bronx Moving Guide: What to Know Before You Move
Updated: Sep 17
The Bronx is home for Crossroads Moving. From Riverdale co-ops to Grand Concourse apartments and new buildings in Mott Haven, every neighborhood has its own moving challenges. Here is what to know before you move.
Co-op and building approvals
Many older co-op buildings require board approval and a scheduled move window. Start this process early, since some buildings need several weeks of notice. Ask whether a certificate of insurance (COI) is required.
Pre-war elevators and stairwells
Pre-war buildings often have small elevator cars and narrow stair turns. Measure your largest furniture and share the measurements with your mover so the crew can plan how to protect and carry each piece.
Parking and traffic
Street parking can be tight, and traffic on the Cross Bronx Expressway and Major Deegan can affect arrival times. Morning starts and midweek dates usually help your move run on schedule.
Crossroads Moving is based at 321 Manida St in the Bronx and has moved Bronx families since 2016. Call 201-567-4135 for a free quote.
